Rehaf Al Batniji

Rehaf Al Batniji is a photographer and visual artist from Gaza City with more than 20 years of experience.

Her work captures the vibrancy, resilience, and complexity of life in Gaza, using color to evoke powerful emotions. She held her first solo exhibition in the backyard of her home in Gaza, and has since exhibited internationally at venues such as Farc Gallery in Metz, Arles, the Institute Du Monde Arabe, Gulf Photo Plus, and the Navy Officers’ Club at the Venice Biennale in 2024. Currently in residence at Cité internationale des arts in Paris, her work has been published in Le Monde Diplomatique and Libération. Rooted in her personal experiences, she draws on the cultural and social memory of Gaza, where she once taught photography and drawing to adolescents. Rehaf is a leading members of Dahaleez, a collective of visual artists from Gaza, and is currently developing two photo books, Carbon Copy I and Carbon Copy II.
